    • The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department, including maintenance of employee benefits, hiring and new hire orientations, human resource compliance, employee relations and more.

      Education/Experience

      • 2+ years of experience in a human resources role.
      • College degree in a related field.

      Knowledge and Skills

      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
      • Knowledge of employee laws and human resources regulations
      • A drive to facilitate employee engagement, foster a strong organizational culture and develop an efficient and successful human resource department
      • Basic computer skills and experience using Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
      • Superior organizational skills, ability to handle multiple projects at a time, ability to adapt and change plans based on priority shifts
      • Ability to meet deadlines
      • Familiarity and experience with job boards (Indeed, LinkedIn, etc.)
      • Strong analytical skills, such as problem solving, critical thinking and decision making.

      Responsibilities

      • Develop and administer various human resources plans and procedures for the credit union, while keeping current on changing trends and incorporating them into the credit union.
      • Perform benefits administration, including annual open-enrollment process, monitoring employee eligibility for benefit plans, reviewing benefits with employees, processing enrollments, monitoring and reviewing plans for cost-effectiveness annually.
      • Develop positive relationships with staff and create programs/activities to foster strong employee engagement at all levels of the organization.
      • Maintain all employee records, reports, applications per regulations.
      • Responsible for maintaining and staying current on all human resources compliance and regulations.
      • Conduct new-employee orientation; monitor and/or introduce career path programs; provide employee relations counseling and exit interviews.
      • Develop and conduct recruitment efforts for all credit union positions as needed. Develop procedures and processes for attracting talent through a variety of means including advertising, job boards, social media, employee referral programs, Heartland website career page, networking etc.
      • Perform all in-house payroll procedures and duties including entering payroll data, processing employee timecards, maintaining employee tax deductions and exemptions, monitoring payroll data for accuracy, preparing payroll reports, etc.
      • Maintain and provide content for human resources section of the employee intranet, including posting helpful articles/tip for employees, benefits information, employee engagement efforts etc.
      • Cultivate and work with managers to foster a fun, positive and supportive Heartland culture at all levels.
      • Perform employee salary forecasts and analysis annually.
      • Develop, recommend and implement personnel policies and procedures.
      • Assist with company events.
      • Communicate and coordinate with hiring managers throughout the recruitment process to ensure timely scheduling of interviews and candidate selection. Work with the managers to identify personnel needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications and skills.
      • Revamp current job descriptions to attract qualified talent in a consistent and professional template for all positions.
      • Recommend improvement for the application process to attract talent and improve the process for applicants and hiring managers.
      • Maintain a high level of confidentiality concerning all company matters including, but not limited to, personnel actions, terminations and organizational plans.
      • Other duties as assigned.

    • As a member of the Member Service Rep (MSR) team, you’ll assist members through all delivery channels, from the phone to the branch. Heartland’s MSRs open new accounts, perform teller transactions and build relationships with members by recommending products and services that best suit their needs. Basic computer skills are required. Prior cash handling and sales experience is a plus.

      • Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain high quality work
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

      • Strong problem solving
      • Must enjoy working with the public and building service relationships
