As the Assistant Branch Manager, you’ll work closely with the Branch Manager to supervise the daily operations of the branch, provide leadership and support to staff, assist in attaining branch and credit union goals and demonstrate excellent member service.
In the absence of the Branch Manager, you may also perform other duties. You will be responsible for assisting members in opening accounts, performing transactions and processing loan applications, as needed.
You will work with staff to train and develop their skills, while fostering a fun and positive team environment.
Basic computer skills are required. Sales and leadership experience is a plus.
Education/Experience
- College degree in a related field and two years financial experience.
- Or, five years of experience with a financial institution and a minimum of two years in a supervisory position.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of overall financial institution operations
- Strong analytical skills, such as problem solving, critical thinking and decision making
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain high quality work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A drive to find opportunities for improvement, such as ways to improve branch efficiencies, staff processes and member service
- Cash handling
- Must enjoy working with the public and building service relationships

As a member of the Member Service Rep (MSR) team, you’ll assist members through all delivery channels, from the phone to the branch. Heartland’s MSRs open new accounts, perform teller transactions and build relationships with members by recommending products and services that best suit their needs. Basic computer skills are required. Prior cash handling and sales experience is a plus.
